FG finally moves Boko Haram detainees from Anambra prison

The 47 suspected Boko Haram members who were on 28th June, 2015 brought into the medium security prison in Ekwulobia, Aguata local government area of Anambra State, have been moved away from the state.

It was reported that the insurgents were transferred on Tuesday night to an unknown destination amid tight security. A source said “definitely they (Boko Haram members) have been taken out of Anambra State.”

This development came weeks after traders marched to the streets of Anambra protesting the residence of the Islamic sect members in its state prison.
Vanguard, on visit to the prison facility yesterday noticed that the heavy security presence that was mounted shortly after the suspects were brought to the town has relaxed, as well as the disappearance of the snipers that usually positioned atop a structure at the prison. The gate of the prison was reportedly open, far from what the situation has been for the past three months.
